The School of Journalism and Mass Communication at UNC-Chapel Hill seeks an assistant or associate professor with current concepts and professional abilities in the area of online news. A master’s degree is the preferred minimum degree. This person should be highly skilled in writing and editing online news, in blogging and in developing news content for the web. This position is in the practice tenure track in the School. The successful candidate will teach a 3-2 course load and will be responsible for assisting other professors in infusing online applications throughout news courses and for helping to revise the basic news writing course. Practice tenure track faculty are expected to be excellent teachers and to publish professionally or to produce creative products that are showcased nationally. Qualifications: Applicants should have demonstrated expertise in online practices, including writing and editing.
