Nearly a week has passed since the splendid gathering of bloggers, podcasters and public radio personalities at the Triangle Bloggers Bash. My apologies for the delay in recording the event (problems at home kept me preoccupied the last few days).
From what the bloggers wrote about the night, the bash was a blast, with high marks for our Lulu reception in the new WUNC studios (with chats and tours from Joan Siefert Rose, George Boosey, David Wright, Laura Leslie, David DeWitt, Keith Weston and a few others, exhausted but high on a very successful pledge week) and good cheer about our WRAL.com -sponsored drinking in Tyler’s backroom Speakeasy, with its wall of beer taps.
For me, the event was everything I’d hoped for when I first thought up the idea — I got to talk with bloggers and podcasters I’d not met before, I got to see the radio studios where Dick Gordon will soon take up residence, and I got to drink a beer, all in the confines of the exciting American Tobacco Historic District.
To top it all off, my friend, mentor and fellow blogger, John Ettorre, flew in just for the event (he was the angel that kept me calm when earlier I’d walked into my home to find it had been ransacked).
Who was there? Here’s a partial list: ae, Anne Bramley, Billy Hylton, Bora Zivkovic, Brian Russell, Chris Blow, Corey Reece, Dave Johnson, David Warner, Debra Beller, Frank Boosman, Garrett French, Henry Copeland, Jackson Fox, Jason Adams, Jeannette Johnson, Jennifer Fauteux, John Barbara, John Ettorre, John Joseph Bachir, Josh Staiger, Karen Mann, Mike Gorman, Mur Lafferty, Pam Spaulding, Paul Jones and son Tucker, Ren Provey, Rod Overton, Ron Hudson, Ryan Irelan, Stephen Fraser, Steven Burnett, Tony Patterson, Wayne Sutton, Will Raymond and probably a few others — if I’ve missed you, please send me a message and I’ll add you to this list.
There are pictures of the event at Flickr.
My thanks to all the sponsors and supporters of the event, and to all who came out to spend an evening with their fellow online communicators. That, really, is what the BlogTogether effort is all about.
Next event: podcastercon. Are you signed up?
